Diver Dies After Mishap at LaSalle County Generation Station

MARSEILLES – The Nuclear Regulatory Commission confirmed this morning that the diver that was found unresponsive yesterday at a power plant has died.  Emergency crews were called Tuesday afternoon to the LaSalle County Generating Station for a report of lost communications with a diver around 3 PM.    Fire departments from Marseilles and Seneca responded, and around 4 PM they located the diver deceased.  The incident is still under investigation, but authorities say the diver was at the lake screen house performing activities underwater.  The identity of the person was not released.
