Peru fire crew puts out car fire Monday morning

 
PERU – A car fire at a residence in Peru was quickly put out Monday morning after a vigilant neighbor reported the blaze. Officials say the car fire occurred in the 2600 block of 7th Street  around 7:30 a.m. had no reported injuries. The cause of the fire was said to be electrical in nature by authorities and the fire was contained to the engine area of the vehicle.  No residents were home at the time, and the fire was extinguished within minutes of the arrival of Peru and LaSalle Fire Departments.
