CHICAGO – The Better Business Bureau is alerting consumers about tickets that were sold for an allegedly fake festival. Taco Fest Chicago reportedly advertised free parking, entertainment and claimed a wide variety of taco vendors and food trucks. The events social media page had vanished, but before it did, they claimed over 1,000 people had purchased tickets.
Dennis Horton, director of the Rockford BBB says, “Sadly, fake festivals and events, as well as phony ticket sales have become a part of the summer strategy for scammers.”
He urges people to fully check out events before making any purchases.
