OTTAWA – Free guided hikes are coming to an area preserve in 2019. Dayton Bluffs Preserves in Ottawa will have their New Year’s Day hike on Tuesday hosted by “Friends of the Dayton Bluffs”, a group that contributes to restoring areas of the preserves. Volunteer Coordinator David Manigold, says volunteers will lead the hikers through trails of the 250 acre preserves that includes Native American burial grounds. He says the goal is to get people of all ages out and about. The hike starts at the parking lot 9 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. There will be hot chocolate and a bonfire after the hike.
