Cheap beer drinkin’ for the Land of Lincoln

ILLINOIS – A study shows that Illinois has the cheapest beer prices than any other state in the U.S. According to Simply Thrifty Living, their 2nd annual study of prices from national and regional retailers in up to 10 zip codes in each state for a 24-pack of Bud Light and Miller Lite, shows that Illinois ranks number one for the cheapest beer. The study shows that an average case of Bud or Miller is at 15.20 per case for the state. The most expensive state to buy beer is Alaska, averaging at $31.21 per case. Michigan, ranking number one last year at $14.62 is currently averaging $16.07 per case. The top five cheapest states to buy a pack of Bud or Miller are South Carolina, New York, Rhode Island, Kansas and Michigan.
