ILLINOIS – North Central Illinois has seen its fair share of wintry mixes and snow storms this winter, accumulating nearly 7 inches of snow fall for the month of February. According to the National Weather Service, LaSalle County saw up to 2.5 inches, Putnam County 1.6 and nearly 3 inches for Lee County in the last 24 hours. While the start of this week seems promising for melting snow with highs in the 30’s, Tuesday night is expected to bring more snow and freezing rain. Snow mixed with freezing rain is expected into the over night hours, with snow accumulation of up to two inches possible. Wednesday could bring more freezing rain mixed with snow before the afternoon, with more rain expect during the day. Temps aren’t forecast to drop past the low 20’s during the nigh time hours this week.
