SPRING VALLEY – The man who had allegedly fled to Wisconsin after a woman was found dead in Spring Valley has been charged with first degree murder. Bureau County Court records say 37-year-old Eddie Lee Mentgen was charged Tuesday after a probable cause hearing. On April 5th, 28-year-old Marissa S. Roberts was found dead in an apartment on Ponsetti Drive. Mentgen was being held on a warrant for a parole violation, and an additional bond of $5 million dollars was set. An arraignment hearing is set for July 15th.
