OTTAWA – Heat is expected to build up to dangerous levels beginning tomorrow into this weekend. According to weatherology meteorologist Ray Miller our best chance to see high indices of 105 degrees will be on Thursday and Friday, with Wednesday kicking things off at an index of 100 degrees. In addition to the hot temps, high humidity is expected bringing dew points nearly into the 70s. Miller says when you add humidity, it is a dangerous combination making it hard for people to cool themselves down effectively. It is advised to spend as much time possible indoors where there is air conditioning and if your job requires you to be outside, take breaks in the shade and hydrate to reduce risk of heat illnesses.
