Sewer repairs begin in Spring Valley

SPRING VALLEY –  Sewer repairs in Spring Valley begin on Thursday. The Illinois Department of Transportation will repair the sewer line on U.S Route 6 after patchwork is completed for the resurfacing project. The city approved a contractor at Monday night’s council meeting for just over $17,000. The repairs will be completed by late August. An emergency repair was also approved of in the 200 block of East Dakota Street where there’s a sinkhole. Jeff Norton says a manhole will be installed to correct the sinkage and give an access point for the sewer system.
