Closures at state parks set to last through this weekend

 
 
OGLESBY – Portions of Starved Rock and Matthiessen state parks are closed due to flooding over the weekend. With more wet weather in the works for this week, Site Superintendent Kerry Novak says those places will likely be closed this weekend. Currently, the lower main parking lot by the Starved Rock visitors center is closed, the lower dells and Matthiessen’s equestrian trail.

Hiker’s that do decide to venture out for the first weekend of October should dress accordingly and be prepared to hit some muddy places.
