OTTAWA – Wet weather is set to delay most farming in LaSalle County this week.
According to LaSalle County’s Farm Bureau President David Isermann, crops are yet to recover from the previous rain they experienced a week before.
ISERMANN: “The reports I’ve heard in the county ranged anywhere from 4 inches to 14 inches, just all over the place and excessive rain so that’s definitely putting a stop to things.”
Though the county is experiencing set backs because of the rain, most corn and soybeans were already planted late due the same issue, so Isermann says those crops will be on schedule for harvest in mid October.
