STEATOR – The city of Streator is tasked to get the highest amount of money in LaSalle County’s opioid settlement. LaSalle County State’s Attorney Karen Donnelly recently filed a comprehensive 320 page complaint against the manufacturers and distributors of opioids, like Purdue Pharma, to seek costs for the county in addressing the crisis.
Donnelly says she’s received preliminary numbers from some of the defendants that are involved, and currently Streator is set to get anywhere from 25 to 35 thousand dollars because of the level of overdoses in the city.
According to Donnelly, the county could receive over $300,000 from the opioid litigation.
