Strike Continues in Mendota

MENDOTA – Talks may happen this weekend, but kids are out of school again today in Mendota as the strike continues in District 289. Both sides are hopeful a return to the table will occur on Saturday to settle the labor dispute with the help of a mediator. Teachers walked off the job on Wednesday at Blackstone, Lincoln and Northbrook Schools after hopes of an agreement fell apart late Tuesday. The negotiations were working toward a new three year contract to replace the expired contract.
