MENDOTA- The strike will come to an end in Mendota as District 289 and the teachers resolved a battle over a new contract Friday night.
The strike, which began on October 16th, kept children who attend Northbrook, Blackstone and Lincoln Schools out of class for eight days.
Teachers filled a building downtown Saturday to vote to ratify the new contract.

The three year deal was reached after a sometimes bitter battle on social media divided the community. Classes are expected to resume Monday.
