OTTAWA – Ottawa’s I-80 pedestrian bridge project could be completed by next year. At Tuesday night’s city council meeting, a resolution authorizing federal grant participation and a maintenance agreement to care for the bridge was passed. Mayor Dan Aussem says the city will pay $500,000 towards the grant through North Central Illinois Council of Governments. The $2.5 project will begin in the spring time with an end date by fall.
