LASALLE – A trap, neuter and rescue program wants to help the city of LaSalle with their stray cat dilemma. Earlier this month, Mayor Jeff Grove voiced his concern regarding stray cats in the area. On Monday night, The Safe House Animal Rescue League out of Dalzell says they’re willing to help. According to Vice President Sand Knott, the non-profit group’s efforts are to humanely reduce the number of cats by trapping and neutering. Knott says ferals are taken back to their homes in the wild, while kittens four months and younger are trained to be domesticated. Alderman Diz Demes made a recommendation for the finance committee to make a donation to the program.
