Idaho firefighters shovel for strangers after snowstorm

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for February 10th:
Over the weekend, Idaho Falls was blanketed with heavy snowfall. It wasn’t just snowplows helping clear surfaces either.
A handful of Idaho firefighters took it upon themselves to drive around neighborhoods and shovel driveways and sidewalks. One act was captured on a couple’s home surveillance camera.
Idaho Falls Fire Department spokeswoman Kerry Hammon came out and said she had no idea some of her staff were going to do shovel, but she wasn’t surprised at the end of the day.
“They are always doing stuff like that,” Hammon added.
It’s a heartwarming sight, and a reminder that a little community service goes a long way for people in a community.
