STREATOR – Streator Township High School could be making an academic scheduling change in the future. According to Principal Amy Jo Mascal, a schedule support committee has been working to study different forms of academic scheduling for students to better prepare for graduation, testing and career/college readiness. After extensive research and guidance from other high schools, the committee feels that block scheduling is the best route for students. The proposal would mean a shorter schedule with longer class periods that meet every other day. The change would allow for students to take more elective courses and make up a failed class that same year.
