SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health Monday announced 1,980 new cases of coronavirus disease in the state, including 50 additional deaths.
Currently, the IDPH is reporting a total of 45,883 cases, including 1,983 deaths, in 96 counties in Illinois.
Governor J.B. Pritzker emphasized during his daily briefing that COVID-19 knows no regional or county boundaries, and that it is not just a Cook County or Chicago problem. He says it would be a disservice to make decisions on something other than science in regards to the state’s handling of the pandemic.
