SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health Friday announced 1,622 new cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 86 additional deaths. Of the reported deaths, 11 were from outside the greater Chicago area. Edgar County is now reporting a case COVID-19, leaving only Scott county without a positive test out of the state’s 102 counties.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from May 22–May 28 is 8%.
