LASALLE – The Illinois State Police announced an update on Wednesday to reports of a man jumping from the Abraham Lincoln Bridge over the Illinois River in May. Authorities say that troopers responded to report of a male jumping from the bridge around 11:00 a.m. on May 23rd. The state police, along with local agencies, conducted a search of the river and were unable to locate the subject. After further investigation, they developed a potential lead on an individual who admitted to jumping from the bridge, swimming to shore, and returning to his residence. As the primary concern was locating the subject and ensuring his safety, no charges were filed or are pending.
