KANKAKEE – A Kankakee felon was arrested on Monday on weapons charges by the Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group. They say they executed a search warrant for the home of 26-year-old Nelson J. Brown. During the search, authorities allegedly found a 9mm handgun. Brown was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and Unlawful Possession of a Stolen Firearm. He is being held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center on a $75,000 bond.
