Meet August, the oldest living Golden Retriever at 20-years-old

Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for June 26th:
Most Golden Retrievers only live to be 10 – 12 years old, but August just turned 20-years-old in April!
She lives with her owners Jennifer and Steve Hetterscheidt in Oakland, Tennessee.
This is significant because no known Golden Retriever has lived to be 20-years-old. While August does have early-stage kidney failure, it hasn’t impacted her daily life. She still loves going on walks and playing fetch in the pool.
“She’s happy doing something, she’s happy doing nothing,” Jennifer said. “She’s showing her age, she’s slowing down, but she’s got gusto, this old girl.”
