Farmer plants 80+ acres of wildflowers to feed over one million bees


Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for June 30th:
Four years ago, brothers from Suffolk, England, Paul and Mark Hayward, decided to fill 81 acres of their Dingley Dell land with nectar-rich wildflowers to help support the declining bee community.
“This was our target when we started – to grow enough to feed a million bees on a single day,” Mark told FarmingUK.
The field itself is colorful and gorgeous, and capable of feeding a million bees a day over a plot of land that extends 80 acres.
“At the end of the day, we see ourselves as caretakers of this land. Between us we have six children and we owe it to them to farm sustainability and set an example for the generations to come.”
