Your “Daily Dose of Uplift” for July 10th:
Roux, a three-year-old rescue dog, became an unlikely hero on the Fourth of July when he saved his sleeping neighbors from their burning home in the Twin Oaks neighborhood, about 21 miles south of Nashville.
Jeff LeCates, the dog’s owner, immediately woke up and subsequently pounded on his neighbors’ door to wake them up, while using a garden-hose in effort to contain the fire before firefighters arrived. No one in the house was hurt.
Ironically, had it not been for the woman whose house caught on fire, LeCates would’ve never adopted Roux. The woman is a dog groomer and knew that LeCates had lost his German Shepherd. She also knew that Roux was in need of a home.
A remarkable story made all the more palatable by an adorable dog.
