Demand lowers gas prices in late Summer

OTTAWA – As many schools decide not to fully reopen due to the pandemic, the American Automobile Association says that is reducing demand, thus causing gas prices to decline.  Locally, LaSalle County continues its trend to have some of the lowest prices in the state, with an average price of $2.21 per gallon.  Statewide, Illinois declined by 5 cents since July, but is still about 17 cents higher than the national average..
