Five Covid Illinois Covid Deaths on Saturday

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced five new coronavirus deaths on Saturday.   That’s the fewest for a Saturday since shortly after the pandemic began in March.  The state also confirmed 1,828 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.  The state says 40 percent of the state’s ICU beds are currently unoccupied, and nearly 80 percent of the ventilators are not being used.
