SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 37 additional COVID-19 related deaths in the state, as well as 2,157 new cases. This is the highest daily death count since July 7th. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Illinois has reported 225,627 cases with 7,954 deaths. The IDPH also reports that the preliminary seven-day positivity rate for the state is 4%.
