SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health announced nearly 50 COVID related deaths this weekend. Health officials say that 31 deaths were reported Saturday and 17 on Sunday, and since Friday afternoon, 3,995 Illinoisans have contracted the virus. Locally, the LaSalle County Health Department reported 33 new cases since Friday afternoon, with 16 on Sunday and 17 on Saturday. 37 people have been reported to have recovered from the novel cornavirus in LaSalle County in the past 48 hours.
