PRINCETON – Two residents of Marshall County have died from complications of COVID-19. The Bureau, Putnam & Marshall County Health Departments on Wednesday say that a woman in her 80’s and a man in his 70’s now bring the total to three deaths in Marshall County since the pandemic began. Illinois’ public health director is urging residents to celebrate the holidays with limited activities and greater precautions because of the persistence of COVID-19. Dr. Ngoze Ezike said people who are sick should not attend celebrations at all.
“On behalf of the entire staff at the Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Departments, I extend our deepest sympathy to the families of these victims of Covid-19.” Said Hector Gomez, Administrator of the BPMHCD. Gomez continued to remind community members to take the simple steps needed to slow the spread of Covid-19 in our communities. “I’m asking everyone in our counties to please help us reduce the number of Covid-19 related deaths. To do that we need to slow the spread of this virus until effective medical approaches to it can be developed and deployed.”
