SPRINGFIELD – A recently introduced bill that would eliminate police presence on school grounds in Illinois is no longer moving forward. House Bill 0029, filled by Representative Anne Stava-Murray, provides that law enforcement officers shall not maintain a presence on school grounds unless there exists an imminent threat of danger to students at the school in question. According to multiple news sources, on Thursday a spokesperson with Rep. Stava-Murray’s office says the state representative is no longer moving forward with the bill. Studstill Media News reached out to the lawmaker to ask why she isn’t moving forward, but have not heard back.
