Peoria woman reported missing is found dead hours later

 

PEORIA — A woman who was reported missing Wednesday night was found dead in Peoria on Thursday morning. According to Peoria Police Detectives, they located a body in the 100 block of Woodrow Drive in East Peoria. Her remains were found behind a multi-unit residential structure in a densely wooded area and identified as 50-year-old Mona R. Ellison. Police say foul play is suspected and that the case is now a homicide investigation. Cause and manner of death will be determined following an autopsy by the Tazewell County Coroner.
