Multi-vehicle crash snarls traffic on I-80 Thursday morning

PERU – A multi-vehicle crash involving a number of trucks and passenger vehicles snarled traffic on I-80 Thursday morning.  Around 8:15 AM multiple agencies were called to the crash near the Illinois 251 interchange where a chain reaction collision apparently occurred in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 75.  Three vehicles were in the median and others scattered along the shoulder and the lanes of traffic.  The Illinois State Police reported that all lanes of the interstate were re-opened by 10:40 AM.  There was no word on injuries, but multiple ambulances were called to the scene.
