PERU – Northview Elementary students honored the Peru Police Department for National Police Week on Monday. Northview Elementary Principal Sara McDonald says one student per class, ranging from kindergarten to fourth grade, created cards to give out to Peru Police, that they distributed in front of the school on Monday morning. Officers were elated as the kids gathered around the team, passing out their handwritten cards and saying thank you. Peru Police Chief Doug Bernabei was delighted by the children’s efforts to appreciate the department.
