Louisiana wildlife agents rescue over 100+ people after Lake Charles flooding

After severe flooding Monday night left a southeastern stretch of Lake Charles, Louisiana underwater, Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) enforcement agents rescued 110 people, including seven with physical limitations.

The children and adults, along with 15 dogs and cats, were brought to high ground where family members greeted them. Some were also transported to local shelters for extra protection.

LDWF is the lead search and rescue agency in the state.
