OGLESBY – If you’re planning on venturing to Starved Rock State Park this weekend, you may want to take a peek at the Visitor’s Center’s latest aquarium. The 350-gallon tank is currently hosting fish native to the Illinois River and its tributaries. Site Superintendent Alvin Harper says folks will be able to scope out pumpkin seed sunfish, logperch, mosquito fish, and a black stripe topminnow. Brenan Caputo, a fishery biologist for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources says the large-scale tank usually holds 1-inch fish for every gallon, so he hopes to acquire more fish by next week.
