MENDOTA – A generous donation will help keep Mendota Police Officers safer in the future. Catholic War Veterans donated $1000 toward the purchase of a bullet resistant vest. Commander William Bradford presented the check earlier this month to Mendota Police Chief Gregory Kellen. According to the National Institute of Justice, those who wore body armor were 76 percent less likely to be killed than those who did not wear armor when shot in the torso.
