PONTIAC – The Livingston County Health Department will be assisting in the collection of unused tires in an effort to reduce mosquito breeding grounds by providing a means of environmentally safe tire disposal. Tires are breeding grounds for mosquitoes. They often fill with stagnant water and debris making them perfect environments for mosquitoes to thrive.
Tires limited to passenger cars and trucks. No farm implement, semi, and large tires of any kind. Tires can be off or on the rim. An appointment is required and only four tires per household.
