Streator Fire Department and surrounding stations awarded $1,000 grant

 
PONTIAC – Fire departments in southern LaSalle and Livingston County are recipients of a $1,000 firefighter’s grant through Illinois American Water. Over $92,000 will be shared by over 90 Illinois fire departments through their 2021 Firefighter Grant Program. Allen Township Fire Protection District, Dana Fire Protection District, Grand Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, Leonore Volunteer Fire Department, Long Point Community Volunteer FPD, Reading Volunteer Fire Department, and the Streator Fire Department will all use the $1,000 grant for various firefighter equipment. Streator will use the grant for new box lights which will provide enhanced safety through brighter LED lights that increase visibility in low light or heavy smoke.
