Ottawa Attorney appointed to Illinois Judicial Committee

OTTAWA – Ottawa Attorney James T. Reilly was appointed to the Supreme Court Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee.   He was nominated to the position by Supreme Court Justice Robert L. Carter.  Reilly is the founding partner of a law firm with an office in Streator.  The Judicial Performance Evaluation Committee is made up of members from across the state whose purpose is to assess and improve judicial performance.

Attorney Reilly has practiced for over 41 years concentrating in civil and criminal trial practice.  He has litigated over 50 jury trials and over 30 major bench trials.  His jury trials have included wrongful death, medical malpractice, fraud and various personal injuries.  He received the 2019-2020 Matthew Maloney Tradition of Excellence Award.  The award was given in recognition of his contribution to the general practice of law demonstrating zealous advocacy and personal service to the legal profession.   Reilly replaces Attorney Michael T. Reagan of Ottawa, Illinois, whose term will expire December 31, 2021.
