Streator reaches agreement with Firefighters Local 56

STREATOR – Streator’s City Council approved a collective bargaining agreement between the city and Streator Firefighters Local 56. According to City Manager David Plyman the agreement is similar to contracts of years past but includes several changes. The three year term will run through December 2024 with a 2.5% pay increase for each year. Plyman says significant negotiations were held between emergency medical response services. The contract will entail a $1,000 annual stipend for medical response services, and also a $2,000 stipend for firefighters who achieve high certification for those services.
