PERU – The city of Peru commended three teenagers for their work in helping to bring a woman to safety. At Peru’s city council meeting Deputy Sarah Raymond recalled the January 25 night when authorities were called for an individual in distress on the Illinois Route 251 bridge. Raymond says the person was in an area on the bridge where passersby could have seen her and only one call was made regarding their safety, from three teenage boys.
The boys were honored with plaques that will have at the Peru Police Department, and the inception of the Odell, Arkels, Stopka citizenship award.
