MENDOTA – The I-39 and US 34 bridge in Mendota will be receiving some much needed work beginning this week. The Illinois Department of Transportation announced short-term lane closures on both directions of I-39 and US 34 may be reduced to one lane at times. The bridge will be getting shoulders resurfaced and expansion joints replaced, plus other improvements. The project, expected to cost over $1 million, is scheduled to be completed by the end of summer.
