OTTAWA – A Bureau County man was arrested Tuesday by the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team for alleged cocaine sales. Authorities took 28-year-old Jesus J. Lopez of Kasbeer into custody on one count of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Cocaine, after an investigation by TRI-Dent into narcotics activity in the LaSalle-Peru area. Officials say they conducted a controlled purchase of over 15 grams of purported cocaine from Lopez. He is currently being held on a $2,000,000 bond.
“Trident is working closely with our state’s attorneys and law enforcement partners, as we continue our committed efforts in reducing the illegal narcotics being distributed in our local communities” said Commander Josh Boedigheimer.
TRI-Dent consists of LaSalle, Streator, Princeton, Oglesby, Mendota, and Ottawa Police Departments along with LaSalle, Bureau and Putnam County Sheriff’s Offices.
