Peru awarded safe routes to school grant

PERU – The City of Peru was awarded a safe route to school grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The approved project includes new and replacement sidewalks for children in the community to reach school safely. A replacement sidewalk along Shooting Park Road at the west school entrance at Parkside Middle School across Cedar Lane and going to the corner of Sycamore Street will be constructed.
