City of Peru Student Opportunity Scholarship to be granted to ten residents annually

 
PERU – Peru residents will have the opportunity to explore higher education with the city’s student scholarship. On Monday, officials established the annual City of Peru Student Opportunity Scholarship with Illinois Valley Community College. Ten residents will have the opportunity to apply for the $1,000 per year scholarship for two years at IVCC’s general studies curriculum. The money will come from the city’s video gaming revenue. Alderman Sapienza who worked with IVCC on the scholarship, says it’s a great opportunity that’s long overdue.
