Authorities recover body of Chicago man who went missing in Illinois River

OTTAWA – The body of a man who went missing on June 12th in the Illinois River has been recovered by authorities. The LaSalle County Coroner’s Office reports the Illinois Conservation Police located the deceased subject west of the Illinois Route 178 bridge on the south shore of the river on Tuesday. Authorities say the death of 21-year-old Giovannie E. Sanchez of Chicago is ongoing by the LaSalle County Coroner’s Office and the Illinois Department of Conservation Police.
