Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch Center to host grand opening

PERU – The expanded new home of the Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch Center will host a grand opening on Wednesday. The building, located at 1503 4th Street in Peru, used to be shared with the Peru Police Department. In the fall of 2021, the Peru Police moved to an all new building, leaving part of the old police station available for the dispatch center to expand. The Illinois Valley Regional Dispatch Center handles emergency calls for LaSalle, Peru, Oglesby, Mendota, Spring Valley, Utica, and Earlville. A ribbon cutting will be held at 10 AM in front of the remodeled facility.
