MENDOTA – The City of Mendota will begin flushing water hydrants on August 22. Please drive carefully when you see City workers performing this maintenance. Hydrant flushing is a controlled action to ensure proper water flow in hydrants for firefighters, residents, and businesses. Hydrant flushing further clears out sediments and minerals from the water main. Doing so retains a high quality of the water. Residents should be aware of possible low water pressure and rusty water. If you experience any discoloration, you should let the water run until it is clear. Also, avoid parking near hydrants while maintenance is being performed.
