PERU – The Peru Police Department are mourning the loss of a former K9 member of their team. Miko, an 11-year-old German Sheppard who had been paired with Peru Police Sergeant Matt Peters from 2014 to 2021 passed away Wednesday. Miko was involved with numerous drug seizures, offender apprehensions, and searches for fleeing individuals or missing persons. After retirement in 2021, Miko was living with Matt and his wife Tabitha.
